Ayia Napa will be hosting again thousands of children and spectators at the soccer tournament which has been established for almost two decades. The registration deadline for the Ayia Napa Soccer Festival is on the 20th of February and the organizers are calling for the team leaders to register as soon as possible, as the demand is even higher than the previews tournaments.
Teams not register until the deadline will not be able to participate in the tournament.
More than 350 teams from Cyprus and abroad participated in last year’s tournament. Soccer academies from England, Poland, Lebanon and Jordan have visited Cyprus in order to participate in the Ayia Napa Soccer Festival 2018. In this year’s tournament, teams from Israel, Egypt and Malta have expressed their interest to participate at the greatest soccer tournament in Cyprus which involves more than 20,000 people.
«We urge all the teams to register as soon as possible for the benefit of the tournament’s organization», states tournament’s manager Mr. Christos Constantinou adding: «Once again Ayia Napa will host over 5,000 young soccer players who will enjoy the experience of an international soccer tournament».
Limited spaces for Lions
There is a very high demand for the Lion category for the 2007-2012 ages, in which there is a restricted participation number and the organizers will follow a queue process. Teams interested in participating in the Lions categories will have to register as soon as possible so they can be included in the participating teams.
The high demand in the 2012 age category has urged the organizers to create a Lion category for the first time at that particular age group. Introducing a Lion category at the 2012 age group allows the soccer academies to give the opportunity to even more children to participate in the games.
Ayia Napa Soccer Festival is organized by Soccer World Cyprus and is under the auspices of the Ayia Napa Municipality and the Cyprus Football Federation. Cyprus Tourism Organization is the great sponsor of the tournament and Cyprus Sports Organization is the Institutional Supporter. The tournament is supported also by Cytavision, which broadcast’s the finals live on television.
