In addition to local teams from Cyprus, numerous countries will be represented at the tournament. These include teams from Greece, England, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Seychelles, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland, representing three continents in total!
Featuring in an international tournament is a major opportunity for young players, as the beautiful game is intertwined with their dreams and ambitions. Together they are thrown into battle as members of training staff act as wise mentors, to lead them - in the context of healthy competition and solidarity - to sporting excellence.
A difficult road that requires dedication, perseverance and teamwork.
Eyes of all parts of the world will be paying attention to Cyprus. This year's number of participants is expected to surpass last year as the institution moves towards fulfilling its vision of making Cyprus a football powerhouse.
Last year's 392 teams and 6,000 kids were a clear indication of the thirst for young “gladiators” to unfold their talent, slowly but steadily making a name for themselves and etching their way into the history books.
All of this takes place in an environment that includes exquisite facilities, such as natural turf fields that foster the development of creativity and football imagination, a fact that for years has made parents blindly trust their "sprouts" in tournament professionals.
Professionals, who evaluate the activities of each year and with a series of meetings, decide on the needs of upcoming events. Against the backdrop of tournament upgrades, they have moved on to create two categories (Eagles and Lions) since 2018, with a strong emphasis on female participation, which will be intense at this year's tournament.
In this year’s tournament, teams from the Eagle category that will be eliminated from the Group Stage, will be able to continue towards the knockout stage of the Lions.
Boys and girls born from 2004 onwards are eligible to participate.
The Ayia Napa Soccer Festival is organized by the SoccerWorldCyprus Association, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and is under the auspices of the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Cyprus Football Federation. The institutional backer is the Cyprus Sports Organization.
