Game Sheet

  1. A game sheet is kept for every single game on which it is noted down the team names, date, game score, referees names, red or yellow cards, possible disputes and objections, as well as any other general remarks and comments related to the match itself, the atmosphere, bad and strange behaviors coming from anyone involved in the games including parents and fans. The referee or supervisor will be able to indicate actions that promote the sport and in general sportsmanship and mutual respect.
    The referees are responsible for maintaining and completing the game sheet with the correct score. At the end of the game the score sheet must be signed by the referee as well as the 2 coaches for the purpose of checking and confirming the correctness of the result.
  2. It is the responsibility of each coach to confirm with the referee and field supervisor immediately after the end of the match the score noted down on the game sheet as well as the names of the team's goal scorers to be recorded on the score sheet for the correct nomination of the first scorer prize per age category.

Game & Extra Time Duration / Penalty Procedure for Knock Out Stage

  1. In age groups 11 vs 11 the duration of the games is 30 minutes each half. In the 9 vs 9 and 7 vs 7 age categories the duration of the games will be 25 minutes per half. In the age groups 5 vs 5 it will be 20 minutes per half time.
  2. For all age groups the half time will be of 5 minutes only.
  3. Extra time at knock out stages and finals:
    For Age groups 2008/2009/2010/2011 (2 Χ 7,5 minutes).
    For the rest of the age groups  2012/2013/2014/2015/2016/2017/2018 and girls (2 Χ 5 minutes).
  4. In the event of a tie after the extra time, penalty shootout will take place (5 shots per team) and then 1 shot per team if there still a tie at the end of the 5 shots. For the ages of 2008 to 2011 (11 vs 11) only players who were playing until the final whistle are entitled for the penalty shootout. In the other age categories all players have a right to a penalty shootout but cannot take a second penalty shot unless all registered players have taken their shot.
  5. Before or during the penalty process goalkeeper replacement is allowed for the age categories 2012 to 2018 while in the age groups of 2008 to 2012 (11 vs. 11) the goalkeeper can only be replaced after injury.

Points System and Table Positions

  1. Games points 3-1-0.
  2. For decisions regarding table positions i.e. best third-placed teams / equality of points we take into account the following.
    Best third-placed teams where needed are determined in accordance with the following criteria (in descending order):
    • higher number of points obtained in the group matches;
    • superior goal difference;
    • higher number of goals scored;
    • higher number of away goals scored; (does not imply for this tournament)
    • higher number of wins;
    • higher number of away wins; (does not imply for this tournament)
    • lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in all group matches
      (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);

Equality of points – group stage

  1. If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied in the order given to determine their rankings:
    • higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
    • superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;
    • higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;
    • higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question; (does not imply for this tournament)
    • if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to l) apply;
    • superior goal difference in all group matches;
    • higher number of goals scored in all group matches;
    • higher number of away goals scored in all group matches; (does not imply for this tournament)
    • higher number of wins in all group matches;
    • higher number of away wins in all group matches; (does not imply for this tournament)
    • lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in all group matches
      (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
    • higher club coefficient (see Annex D). (Does not imply for this tournament).

Refereeing

  1. Referees from Cyprus referees association and the official Cyprus Federation will be appointed given that they will have the approval from their association. Amateur local or international referees as well as ex referees or non-qualified volunteers can be appointed in the case of emergency.
  2. For the age categories from 2008 to 2011 (11 vs. 11) 3 referees will be appointed. In the event of a shortage, these emergencies could be covered by third unofficial and non-qualified volunteers such as coaches, parents or fans given that both teams competing will agree. In addition, the organizers reserve the right to use less referees i.e. two or even one in case of a serious shortage or emergency.

Special Game Rules Per Age Categories

Unless otherwise specified in this publication either in the above or below paragraphs, all games are being played under international official rules for 11 aside games and under the Cyprus official association grass roots rules for the lower age groups (9 aside, 7 aside and 5 aside).

The tournament organizers retain the right to adjust or change any of the tournament rules and regulations at any time prior or during the tournament without any prior notice to teams for the smooth running of the tournament games and the tournament event in general. Such changes will be notified to teams straight after the decision.
